Upon arrival in Istanbul, your connection flight will bring you to Antalya, where you will spend your first overnight.
Today we will drive to Myra, where St.Paul set sail on his journey to Rome and where the best examples of Lycian rock-cut tombs can be seen overlooking the Roman Theater. At Demre, where the legend of Santa Claus began we will see the Church of St. Nicholas built over the tomb of the saint who was bishop of Myra. We continue the day with a drive to Fethiye. While driving to Dalyan, we will leave the Mediterranean coast and continue our way along the Aegean coast. As a first stop, we will enjoy a boat tour on the Istuzu Lake, a natural bridge between sweet and salt water and a protected natural site. On the slopes you will be able to discover rock cut royal tombs of Caunos. Overnight in Kusadasi
In the morning, you will depart for Seljuk to visit Ephesus, one of the most fascinating cities in the ancient world which was among the Seven Churches of Revelation. You will stroll along the Marble Street past the Agora, the Odeon, the Nympheaum of Trajan, the Temple of Trajan, and the Celsius Library. You will sit in the Theatre, where St. Paul preached words which triggered off a riot by the supporters of the worship of Artemis who felt he was a threat for their religion and business. You will also see the remains of the Temple of Artemis which was once of the Seven Wonders of the World. You will visit Sirince, a picturesque charming village set in the hills above Seljuk, where the old Greek houses have been restored with their original characteristics. Overnight in Kusadasi
After breakfast we will depart for Pamukkale. Here we will see the ancient city of Hierepolis, a city that gained importance in the Roman times because of its thermal springs. Over the centuries, calcite-laden waters have created the travertine cascades, which attract worldwide attention. Overnight in Pamukkale
Today we will visit a weaving school and production cooperative where you are given an educational and entertaining lecture on Turkish tribal art and weavings. Then we will leave the Aegean region to head for Antalya where we will stay overnight.
In the morning we will drive through the coastal plain of Pamphylia. On our route we first stop by the ruins of Perge, which was visited by St. Paul on his first missionary journey. There you can stroll along the mosaic sidewalk of a colonnaded street past the stadium and theater. After coming back to Antalya, we will stroll through the picturesque old town with its narrow streets and typical wooden houses overlooking the marina, to discover Hadrian’s Gate, the Fluted Minaret, the Truncated Minaret, and Hidirlik Tower. We will complete the day with a refreshing tour to the waterfalls of Karpuzkaldiran. Dinner and overnight at the hotel
All too soon it is time to bid this magical land “gule gule” (goodbye) as you are transferred to the airport for your return flight home.
